Traveling is an incredible way to learn new things, open your eyes, and broaden your mind – not to mention a whole lot of fun and a great way to make everlasting memories. I spend a lot of my time mentally writing bucket lists of places I would love to visit one day, and I hope I’ll be able to tick a lot of them off my list.

Here are five amazing destinations for holiday inspiration, which are perfect if you are planning your next trip.

Lapland

If you don’t fancy a sunny holiday, Lapland is the perfect antidote. Enjoy snow sports such as skiing and visit the stunning national parks. In Finnish Lapland, you have 200 nights a year when the Aurora Borealis is visible and it is one of the most incredible natural phenomena in the world. In the summer you will be blown away by the weird concept of 24-hour sunlight, but in the winter, enjoy midnight sun where there is no sun at all. If you have children there’s plenty to do, such as visiting Santa and his reindeer too!

Tanzania

Tanzania is home to some of the largest game reserves in Africa and as such, it is the perfect place for a safari – although there are so many countries in Africa which are perfect for a safari!

It’s also where the Great Migration starts, where over a million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles make their way from the Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara. If you can, try to time your trip in order to see this striking show of nature.

With a safari, you can choose to focus on The Big Five animals (elephants, lions, leopards, Cape buffalo, and rhino), or ask for a walking tour in order to see the ecosystem working as a whole.

New Zealand

New Zealand is the home of adventure and adrenaline! Take part in zip lining, horseback riding, sailing, surfing, bungee jumping and more – it really is the place to take you out of your comfort zone! If you are more about the natural side of things, take a walk in the breathtaking landscape and keep your eyes peeled for various plants and animals, including the kiwi – the national bird of the country.

Whether you are hoping to see a lion stalk his prey, soak up some art and culture or see the Northern Lights, there is something for everyone on this list.

So, what do you think? Where will your next holiday be? Let me know in the comments.
