Hi everyone! Five days ago, I posted that on my Instagram. I’m so happy I took a litte break because now I feel so recharged! I know that part of my New Year’s Resolution is consistency and so far I’m not really doing well in that aspect. Fingers crossed that my brain juice will keep on coming!

best place to stay in sri lanka
As you all know, I spent the 2015 holidays (Christmas and New Year’s) traveling around Sri Lanka with my boyfriend and two more friends. We left Hong Kong on the 19th of December and was back on the 3rd of January. I’ll make a separate post about the whole trip because this hotel that I’m writing about deserves its own spotlight.

We arrived past midnight at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo and on our first night, we stayed in Jetwing Blue in Negombo which is just less than 20 minutes away from the airport. It was very convenient because let’s admit it after a long flight, we all just want to take a rest, right?

Even though we were checking in at ungodly hour, the staff was very accommodating. We were also served with some yummy welcome drinks which we found inside our room too. (I just realised that I didn’t take enough photos because everything was packed in my backpack 🙁 )

After a few minutes in the lobby, we were then ushered to our room. We stayed in one of their luxurious and spacious suites facing the beach. It was really nice to wake up to the sound of the waves crashing in the shore but it was way even better with the view of the Indian ocean!

Because there was a slight time difference, we ended up staying a bit more in bed but my tummy wasn’t having it. So me and my boyfriend went down to the breakfast buffet and our friends followed a couple of minutes after.

Jetwing Blue buffet was very impressive! With a wide variety of choices, from appetisers to desserts, you will definitely come back one plate after another. They have eggs, pancakes, waffles, bacon, ham, chicken, sausage, cereal, fruits, yoghurt, I can seriously keep on going! They don’t just have Western food, they also have Asian, Mediterranean and of course Sri-Lankan.

Aside from the delicious buffet, one of the facilities of their suite rooms that we enjoyed is the large timber floor balcony with an outdoor lounge and Jacuzzi, overlooking the beach. The rooms also have an exclusive lounge (or sitting) area, long balcony with a day bed, fast Wi-fi, a really high-tech Pop-up TV and DVD/CD player.

The swimming pool in Jetwing Blue is stunningly beautiful. Take a dip after swimming in the beach or lounge here with drinks on your hand all afternoon, if we had more time in Negombo, I would definitely do the latter!
Jetwing Kaduruketha review
Jetwing Hotels are all around Sri Lanka, and I really recommend that you stay with them. One of their newest hotel is Jetwing Kaduruketha near Ella. It is Sri Lankan’s first major agro-tourism that gives an eco retreat with a simplistic elegance. Jetwing Kaduruketha in Wellawaya offers guests maximum comfort and relaxation in the form of your own private dwelling that has been designed to blend in seamlessly with the natural surroundings of the area.
