Last week I was invited by Harvard of Always Hungry PH to come to City Golf Plaza. He initially didn’t mention which restaurant and instead said that I will see it right away.
As soon as I arrived, he wasn’t lying. Mongelica Pares and Mami Hub in City Golf Plaza, occupies the former spot of Mexican taqueria Lo De Alberto. The concept of Mongelica is the usual street-side eatery that serves food on the go, but with more space and more organized.
Mongelica Pares and Mami Hub, owned by Dodjie and Monica Violago and Hernan and Angel Lorenzo, made sure that the well-selected Filipino favorite dishes are priced affordably.
I like the fact that all their grilled dishes are super fresh and clean. Their isaw is super good and frankly, I am happy to have just that with rice.
Their version of sisig is like a gift from the heaven. Tasty, crispy and just the right amount of kick. My kind of pulutan! *yes, they do serve alcohol – a great place to unwind after a tiring shift.*
And of course, Mongelica’s signature Mami did not disappoint me. The beef was tender and very flavorful. Served in a bowl, this dish will quickly fill you up.

For dessert, we were served with Mais con Yelo – perfect way to end such a great visit here at Mongelica Pares and Mami Hub.
If you find yourself wondering where to eat traditional Filipino food without a hefty price tag (and without risking hepa haha), come to City Golf Plaza in Pasig City – you will not be disappointed!
