I’ve always supported foodpanda Philippines (even when I’m in Hong Kong) because they’re efficient and saves me so much time by simply getting food delivered at the comfort of my home.
This time though, foodpanda PH didn’t deliver the delicious food to my home but instead, the lovely team behind #GoodFoodTourPH organized a Mexican x Spanish food crawl for us – simply put, we were the ones delivered to the restaurants haha!
For this 7th edition, we braved the streets of Tomas Morato Avenue, Quezon City for some muy delicioso comida! (very delicious food!)

After seeing this generous and delicious sounding dishes, all I can say is si, por favor!!!

I arrived a bit late at the first stop which is Señor Pollo of El Chupacabra Group. A “hole-in-the-wall” with a cozy ambiance and walls filled with artworks of Mexico’s rich culture.
I got to try their bestseller which is the Roasted Chicken paired with your own choice of side dishes. The chicken is very tender and flavorful.
Señor Pollo Nachos was also a hit in our table. 
Señor Pollo Quesadillas was also delicious! It arrived when we were about to leave but I just had to try a little bit. It was so good, I could easily finish this all in one seating.
Señor Pollo Hot Wings – it arrived at the same time with the quesadillas. It was very good and a perfect match for a beer or two (even cocktails after a long stressful day at work).
My favorite! The Señor Pollo Dulce de Leche Cheesecake! It wasn’t sweet and doesn’t give you that sawa taste, but it will definitely leave you wanting for more.
Walking distance away was our second stop, Dulcinea. Yes, the same place that’s famous for the golden classic churros and chocolate dip! Did you know that they are actually a restaurant which has been serving authentic Spanish dishes since 1963?
Aside from pastries, they also serve tapas, sopas, ensaladas, paella and many more!
A little bit of history: In 1518, Spaniards had a long expedition to a place that is now known as Mexico. Just like what they did in the Philippines when they colonized us, these Spanish conquistadors left their marks in so many ways (like surnames, etc).
As Spanish colonized Mexico, their dishes started to create this beautiful and yummy fusion. Mexican cuisine is all about the meat, dairy products, herbs and spices while Spanish dishes is more on regional cuisines.
Dulcinea Paella Valenciana is a rice dish that originated from the east coast of Spain. 
If you love seafood, you will love this. It’s very fresh and rich in flavor and aroma.
Salmon Al Ajillo was also good. It doesn’t give you that bad seafood taste. The mashed potato is a great pairing for this dish. 
Dulcinea’s Salpicao is tender, meaty and juicy. One of my favorites!
The tropical fruitshake is very refreshing! It has banana, papaya, pineapple, mango, strawberry syrup and more fruits. Every sip gives you an idea what it has.

The heaven sent crunchy churros con chocolate was addictive! I’m super impressed that it wasn’t greasy/oily at all.
Our last stop was Alba Restaurante Español. It has been in the industry for six decades and has become famous for being the home of traditional Spanish cooking. The owner, Cachelle de Alba said that she wants to bring to Manila a part of Spain and its cultural history thru the food that they serve. I think they have succeeded in doing so because when we came here on a weekday, there were a lot of diners.
The ambiance is very homey, the place smells delicious because of the exquisite food that they serve from tortillas, ensaladas, paellas and even pasta, they have it all!
Gambas Al Ajillo was a great appetizer!
Chorizo Fritos was also served as soon as we were seated and if I had not known that we will have other dishes, I may have finished this all because it was super good!

The Sangria here is super good! Its not strong but if you keep on having it without a break, you will feel tipsy before the dinner ends. So make sure you hydrate by drinking water too 🙂 
They served us 3 different paellas and it was definitely a feast! This is the Paella Valenciana of Alba and I highly recommend this.
Another recommendation from me is this Paella Negra. They used squid’s ink to give it color and if you love seafood, you will surely love this.
The Paella Con Setas y Pesto is made of valenciana rice, mushroom, pesto and veggies. This paella is recommended for vegetarians. I’m not a vegetarian but I honestly enjoyed this and its one of my faves from this food crawl. It doesn’t give you the taste that you’re eating a vegetarian dish. How many times can you say vegetarian in one paragraph? Haha!
Salpicado de Solomillo is super flavorful and tender. I also enjoyed this dish.
Lapu-Lapu A La Romana. If you like fish but hate to make himay, this fish fillet is perfect for you. The homemade aglio olio sauce completes this dish.
Cochinillo Asado Oven roasted suckling pig was a nice surprise to us because it wasn’t part of the menu. It was very crunchy and delicious!
The Canonigo is a soft meringue cake that melts in your mouth. Its a bit too sweet for my liking but I still enjoyed this dessert.
Thank you foodpanda Philippines for having me. It was so great to meet everyone! This food crawl was super refreshing to me because the organizers were down to earth and approachable. The staff of all 3 restaurants that we visited gave us amazing service and went above and beyond in accommodating us. If you have a special occasion or celebrating a milestone, consider Señor Pollo, Dulcinea and Alba Restaurante Español because these restaurants are the perfect venue for everything.
