I can say that this weekend is all about food because earlier today, I was invited to attend the soft re-opening of Mangan Restaurant Robinsons Galleria. If you haven’t heard of Mangan, it is a Pampangan restaurant, related to Cabalen Group of Companies. In Ilocos, Pampanga and Pangasinan, “mangan” means “eat.”

Mangan’s menu is all about traditional home-cooked Filipino meals. We were served the following of their best-sellers:
Kare-Kare Seafood
Crispy Pork Sisig
Laing with Dulong
Bulalong Baka w/ Mais
Sizzling Chicken
Laing Rice
Ispesyal Ning Bale – Sampler (2pcs Bibingka & 2pcs Puto Bumbong) served with grated coconut and mascuvado
For the drinks, we tried the Cucumber Lemon and Watermelon Lemon which are served in a pitcher and is good for 2-3 persons.

It was a super busy Monday Lunch time and the place was packed! Mangan was temporary closed for a few months but the people did not forget how delicious their food is because they came flocking in.

The service was really good and they were all attentive. The food took a while to get served but that was totally understandable being it was a restaurant peak time.

Crispy Pork Sisig
One of my all time faves! Definitely crispy and had lots of meat not just the usual “fillers”.

Laing Rice

Kare-Kare Seafood
I paired this with the Laing Rice, and wow, it was such a perfect combination. The Kare-Kare was really creamy and I like how fresh it is and doesn’t taste “seafood-y” (malansa).

Fruit Coolers: Cucumber Lemon and Watermelon Lemon

Ispesyal Ning Bale – Sampler (2pcs Bibingka & 2pcs Puto Bumbong) served with grated coconut and mascuvado
You don’t need to wait for Christmas/Holiday season because these best-sellers are available all year round. And they were super good!

If you are from the Philippines, you would know that Kapampangans are well-known for being good cooks, and that fact definitely translated to the dishes that we had. Everything we tried were really delicious and Mangan did not fail to meet my hungry tummy’s expectation haha!
I love how you can enjoy all these Filipino dishes at such an affordable price. Make sure you come visit Mangan Restaurant at the 2nd floor Lower Veranda Robinsons Galleria!
