As soon as you walk in, you will be welcomed by their friendly staff and a very homey ambiance. The interiors; industrial high ceiling with wood and metal finish, brick walls with hanging lamps as decor will definitely draw you in. I was here for lunch and I really appreciated how much natural light there was. I can imagine how great this place is during dinner too (perfect for dates, that’s for sure).
On the other side of the restaurant, you will find “El Butcher Shop”, where all the restaurant’s signature meats are available for takeaway.
Fun fact #2: “El Gaucho” is a South-American term for “cowboy”.
El Gaucho’s Lunch Menu is definitely worth checking out.
El Gaucho Makati also offers a private/VIP area for those looking for an intimate dining experience.
A complimentary serving of freshly baked Ciabatta served with roasted garlic, herb butter and Salsa Criolla (a South American sauce composed of sliced onions and cilantro, beets, chili peppers and tomatoes) to start of your lunch? Yes please!
El Gaucho Beef Empanada, served with salad on the side (P490). I love how flaky and crunchy it is and when you slice it, there’s so much filling inside. As you can see, its super stuffed so be careful (you need to save room for the mains!)
Grilled Lamb Chops. I love lamb but it is really hard to find a restaurant that cooks them properly. Luckily, El Gaucho knows what they’re doing! Their lamb chops are not gamey at all. Grilled to perfection, every bite offers a juicy and tender smokey meat.
For the sides, we had the following: Mashed Potato (P390) and Cream Spinach (P490) Macaroni and Cheese (P390). They have more aside from these in case you are wondering.
Dulce de leche in crepe with vanilla ice cream (P550). After a delicious meal, I always find it so rewarding to finish it off with a nice dessert. This is perfect for sharing but I find it a bit too sweet for my own liking. I look forward to trying out their other offerings though!
Diners are offered an ice-cold El Caramel (El Gaucho’s proprietary Salted Caramel Vodka) shot before leaving the restaurant. A one-of-a-kind caramel drink made with Belvedere Vodka infused with their own caramel syrup to create this signature house-blend shot.
